SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Friendship, justice, and LEARNING are central to Sigma Chi's mission to develop leaders

who are committed to the betterment of character, campus, and community.​

The Sigma Chi Parents Club encourages LEARNING and rewards academic excellence through it's Scholarship Program.  To be eligible for a scholarship, the Sigma Chi must be an active member (in good standing) of the Epsilon Mu Chapter and all fraternity dues must be paid in full.  The Sigma Chi must also be currently enrolled as a TCU student, taking 12 units in both the Spring and Fall semesters.  The Sigma Chi must also consent to his grades being released to the President and Treasurer of the Sigma Chi Parents Club. The President and Treasurer alone will determine the eligible recipients after the above criteria is met.  Scholarships will be awarded during the spring semester of each academic year.  As funding permits, scholarships will be awarded as follows:

  • $400 to any member earning a GPA of 4.0 in the spring semester of the previous academic year or the fall semester of the current academic year

  • $375 to the member of EACH pledge class who earns the highest GPA (other than a 4.0) in the spring semester of the previous academic year or the fall semester of the current academic year

  • $365 to the member of EACH pledge class who earns the SECOND highest GPA (other than a 4.0) in the spring semester of the previous academic year of the fall semester of the current academic year 

  • $225 to the member of EACH pledge class that who has the most improved GPA from the spring semester of the previous academic year to the fall semester of the current academic year AND whose cumulative GPA in the fall semester of the current academic year is at least 2.0 (newly initiated members are not eligible for this award

  • To any member earning a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 in the fall semester of the current academic year, the amount awarded shall be a follows:

  1. $350 to members of the Senior pledge class​

  2. $325 to members of the Junior pledge class

  3. $300 to members of the Sophomore pledge class

  4. $275 to members of the Freshmen pledge class

  • $100 to any member earning a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in the spring semester of the previous academic year or the fall semester of the current academic year who has not received any other scholarship award.  

 

In addition to the academic scholarships noted above, the Parents Club will present the Berkley Duckson award in honor of a beloved  Chapter member gone too soon.
