THE
AWARD

In February of 2021, the Epsilon Mu chapter lost beloved brother, Berkley Allen Duckson.  Born and raised in Minnesota, "Berks" had an undeniable zest for life.  Accomplished in various sports, Berks was also an avid fisherman who often enjoyed hunting on the weekends with his dad, Jay.  Berks had an innate sense of kindness and compassion, he was always quick to offer words of encouragement to those friends in need.  His compelling charm was endless and he had an infectious smile that brightened every day. Although his time at TCU was short, he was recognized for high academic marks and he was destined for greatness.  Berkley undeniably embodied the core values of Sigma Chi - friendship, justice, and learning.

In honor of Berkley Duckson, the Parent's Club will award $500 to a single individual (nominated by his peers) who demonstrates the core values of Sigma Chi.  Each Chapter member will nominate the person they feel is most deserving of the annual award and the person with the most nominations will receive the scholarship funds at the Moms Weekend Chapter Event.

This is not a popularity contest.  The awarded person should be a man of good character, have ambitious purpose and good morals, have a deep sense of personal responsibility, and excel academically.
